The hand parts come as separate pieces that need to be swapped out. There are six hand types: fully open, partially open, holding a scabbard, pointing, palm with fingers together, and weapon-holding hands.

The thighs are mostly covered by skirt armor, a feature retained from the original mold. The knees use new parts with spikes to fit the Silver Samurai theme. The lower legs and feet are also covered in layered armor, with the toes resembling claws.

The toy has a noticeable backpack, but its size is acceptable, and it doesn’t look bad. The backpack has striking wings on both sides, making it look harmonious.

In terms of articulation, the head can rotate horizontally and move up and down. The arms can rotate vertically and raise over 90 degrees. The upper arms can rotate and bend backward. The elbows bend well over 90 degrees, and the wrists can rotate.

The chest and abdomen have two joints, allowing the upper body to bend forward, and the waist can rotate. The legs can kick forward, backward, and to the side, though the large skirt armor slightly limits movement. The thighs can rotate about 45 degrees, the knees bend over 90 degrees, and the feet have forward, backward, and side-to-side movement. While the Silver Samurai’s articulation isn’t exceptional, it’s sufficient for standard poses.

The Silver Samurai’s accessories include two swords, a machete, a small Wildrider gun, and two guns. The sword designs are similar to the original Iron Factory version, but Pangu provides two swords instead of one, with a silver samurai-themed color scheme and red blade paint.

The swords can be sheathed in the new scabbards on the skirt armor. This weapon storage method considers both playability and the overall look of the toy, making it a good storage solution.

The machete is a new accessory, modeled after the burning sword used to cut off Wolverine’s claws. It’s mostly made of armor, giving it a more mechanical feel than the swords.

The small gun’s design is clearly inspired by Wildrider’s, but it’s a bit loose in the grip, which hopefully the manufacturer will improve.

The pair of guns are also new accessories from Pangu. They have blades near the barrels, making them suitable for both close and long-range combat. However, the raised blade on top of the guns is a bit confusing. If the handles were longer, allowing the Silver Samurai to hold them in reverse like tonfas, the raised blade would make more sense and look great. Currently, the short handles don’t allow this, so just use them as regular guns.

The guns can be mounted on the skirt armor via pegs, but you can’t mount both the guns and scabbards simultaneously, so choose based on your preference.

The Silver Samurai’s transformation process is straightforward. Following Banruo’s instructions makes it easy to transform, with the only difference being the modified head.

While the robot mode is impressive, the vehicle mode isn’t as high in quality, with visible robot parts. The vehicle’s head has been redesigned into a beaked bird, making it a mechanical bird rather than a plane, which is a more reasonable design.

In conclusion, the Pangu Toys Silver Samurai is a highly creative remold, with extensive modifications that almost create a new character. The toy is almost fully painted, with high-quality paintwork and numerous accessories, enhancing playability. The vehicle mode redefines the original design, turning a plane into a mechanical bird. Despite the vehicle mode’s lower completion, the excellent robot mode and affordable price make the Silver Samurai a satisfying purchase.
