Transformers Lost Nodes C02 Animated Optimus Prime. This series hit me right in the feels. First, I couldn’t afford an original Optimus Prime when I was a kid and had to play with my friends’ or classmates’ toys, or sometimes an old version of Optimus Prime. As I grew older, I felt a bit disappointed with the articulation of the old toys, so I never bought the reissue versions. The Lost Nodes series increases the articulation while maintaining the classic design of the old toys, which is highly satisfying for me, especially as a fan of Transformers G1.

The vehicle mode is generally consistent with the old Optimus Prime toy, but there are some minor differences. For example, since the hands are no longer plug-and-play, the headlights are complete without any holes.

The roof has a heat-sensitive sticker, full of nostalgia. The windows are quite transparent, allowing a clear view of the Energon cube inside. The animated version has yellow on the front windshield, which needs to be applied with stickers. Personally, I dislike stickers due to wear and curling, so I didn’t apply them.

Since it’s an animated version, the taillights at the back are not color-separated.

The old toy is really fun to play with, easily transforming with a few moves. Thanks to the added articulation, it’s no longer just a G1 stance after transforming. This toy is a standout in the Transformers reissues.

The eyes of the animated Optimus Prime are blue, and you can see small details on the face mask, which are quite exquisite. There is still a relatively large protrusion behind the shoulders, and unlike the toy color version, the forearms lack detailed paint. The elbows, wrists, and fingers are all movable.

The articulation of the legs has been greatly increased, with movement at the hips, knees, and ankles. I never thought the classic design’s feet would have ground contact one day.

There are quite a few exposed bugs on the back, but this is expected given the old design and transformation method.

The Energon cube is revealed through a downward flip rather than double doors.

The waist also has an added segment of articulation, although it’s a bit tight.

With the increased articulation, the whole toy can now pose in many dynamic ways, which is very

satisfying.

The weapons include a big gun and an energy axe. The installation of the energy axe is very simple and looks great.

Overall, this animated Optimus Prime in the Transformers toys series stands out, especially for fans who love the classic design but want increased articulation. It’s a must-have toy.
